This Is my first pedal review so here goes. I had my ibanez ts808 modded by matta and have had a month to play it and so time for a review. All I can say is " Wow" a huge difference in sound. In its standard form it sounded good but after the mod it sounds way fuller and not as harsh and nasaly as the stock version. I A/B'd it with my original ts9 from '83 and it sounds way better. I initially thought it might make some difference but was not expecting what I heard. The drive is much smoother and on my amp(fender bassman 50) it absolutely shines. I have tried it with my strat ( brilliant Srv to classic rock sounds) and with my epi les paul which really takes it into the classic rock arena. When I picked it up from matta he had his amp rigged up with a standard unmodded ts and mine next to it to compare. The standard was good but when the modded was switched in I could not believe how thin the standard one sounded. The only way to describe the sound now is that the pedal feels like it is actually part of the amp and not a separate effect that has been switched on. Brilliant stuff and to round off the mod the standard led has been replaced with a blue one ( very Cool ) and I believe this is a Matta mod trademark.
To anyone out there contemplating getting a better sound out of your ts (be it a 9 ,10 or 808 ) this is the way forward. I have played it extensively for a month and it just keeps growing on me. I cant stop singing the praises of this pedal enough. Guaranteed to keep a smile on your face for years! All this from one of our own on this forum.Local is truly lekker!
Dare I say Time to Matta mod my vintage ts9.

Hi Banditman,
I keep stock of the parts, so as long as I have them and I'm not in a crazy bout of work turnaround is quick, in some cases I can do it while you wait. If you just want the cap/resistor/opamp mod done it takes +- 1hour to do, so I can do it while you wait, if you want true-bypass it normally takes 2+ hours and because I need to drill the chassis I wait until I'm doing other drilling/mounting and do it all at the same time, but turn around is normally no more than a few days if the parts are available.
RE pricing, due to Forum rules and regulations I can't quote them, but if you, or anyone is interested please feel free to drop me a PM. I do mods on various pedals, more commonly, the Tube Screamer family, Rats, Boss DS-1/MT2/SD-1 etc, mainly distortions/overdrives, but most commercial pedals can do with some tweaking.
Cheers
Matt
