Laney GS212ie cab (need advice)

I've been offered a laney 212 cab for a good price, just want to find out if anyone has any experience with laney cabs with using with different heads?

I am planning on haveing a 50 watt power amp built for my mesa pre amp.

it has celestion seventy 80 drivers

Nothing wrong with Laney cabs in general, but I'm not wild about the Seventy 80 speakers to be honest. They are the "budget" Celestions - great for the price, but you can do much better. I suppose that would make the cabs great to mod if the price is right ?
