This is a version of the Tronical system that Gibson have licensed from the inventor.

You turn it off during performance, so the general tuning looseness of a floating bridge while playing won't be a problem.
Its really not that bad tuning your guitar.
There I agree completely. It's a nifty invention, but totally unnecessary. Just something else complex to go wrong.
Another one for the doctors, lawyers and actors that Gibson seems to cater more for than working musicians these days.
