Nee boet,
Seriously now? Are the shops crap there?
I was not impressed last time I was there.
I was trying to buy a Univibe. Most shops in Denmark street (guitar shop corner of London) didn't have. They all referred me to another shop that specialised in effects. He didn't have either. He tried to sell me an MXR phase 90 saying that it was "almost the same". Guitars generally expensive and not well set up. OK... that's London, so you expect things to be expensive.
I visited quite a friendly shop in Norwich. They had some nice guitars (in a very unimpressive shop) but didn't have stock of several brands of accessories they advertise. They weren't open during their advertised opening hours, but there was a number on the door and I called that. They said "give us 15 minutes".
Last stop was a place in Manchester from whom I'd ordered a set of new machine heads for my Morgan. I told them that the key thing was that the new heads must drop straight in - I didn't want do any drilling. An OTC set of Gotohs would do that job, but they ordered a set of Schallers for me. Fine, I don't have any brandy loyalty in this regards, but the tuners were M60s which WILL not drop into the Gotoh holes. And they were priced 30 pounds more than the price I'd been quoted. They DID have some way cool guitars - but the prices were higher than in London. At least that shop was humidified and they had a resident technician.
