Amp Covers

Hey guys,

Any idea where I could get my hands on a cover for my Marshall JCM2000 TSL 602? My 13 month old son has now discovered it and constantly fiddles with the knobs, so before something happens, I'd like to keep it covered. The thing is, I spoke to Marshall Music in Durbs and they will have to order, with the price being somewhere in the region of R1100.00 which is more than I'm willing to pay for something like this.

Any pointers on where to find a cheaper one, or creative ways of covering it wouls be appreciated.

Thanks for the response Alan, I have tried a search of Gumtree (whole country), but have come up empty handed. Any other ideas or anyone perhaps have the contact details of the person who makes them?

Reinhard had a nice black canvas type cover made for the Classic 30 which I got when I bought it. Fits snugly and handle comes through the cover.

PM him and ask him who he used? Its very well made, can snap a pic later if interested.

talking about amp covers..........slightly off the original topic but it made me think of this .......

just a hint or tip........ for us muso's especially in jhb if you gigging and moving gear in the continual rain we been having for last few months....... just keep a supply of large black garbage bags in your gig bag ...for those nights after a gig when it's pouring and storming......... like last night ....they are great help to just pullover a PA speaker before loading ..or even small amps and gear bags ..... it's a cheap fix but better than risking water damage to your gear......... and light weight enough to carry without it being "extra baggage"

but yeah waterproof flight cases are essential for any gear that gets moved.........

This is kind of a odd story.

I walked into a upholstry workshop oneday, and saw a big piece of leather that came from a old couch in the bin, i asked them i could take it, they said yes, took it to someone doing upholstry and made a cover for my amp.

Just to post some feedback on this, I contacted Mike from Custom Covers, the guy who advertises in Gumtree, as per Alan's link. After some discussion, I ended up having covers for my JCM 2000 602 combo as well as my Boss GT8 made. The Amp cover cost me a paltry R280.00 and the pedal cover R120.00, both were padded, and could be had cheaper unpadded. Compare this to the Marshall branded vinyl cover I was quoted at around R1400.00. Quality of workmanship as well as the fit to the equipment is excellent, and I received the goods 9 days from the time of placing the order.

Excellent service and I can highly recommend these guys if you are looking for good quality covers to protect your equipment.
