Uhh... my straps are custom made for me by Lindsey Ross ? . The last three I got from him were under R200 each. I just spoke to him again and he's going to check the price of the Brazilian leather he uses for straps and get back to me on a price.
At a guess, they'll probably work out about R200 - I don't go for fancy tooled stuff like some of the Levy's, just seriously solid gun leather with a suede backing and a slight "S" shape so they don't cut into your neck.
Geez thanks for this guys. You picked the one thing I do need more of too.

Yeah. Lindsay decided he wasn't going to try and make them for retail, so he gave me the last one of the three I have. However, I've since persuaded him that it is a viable option - I mean, a Levy quality leather strap for R200 - R250? What's not marketable about that? You still use yours? (he asked pointedly - yet again).

Alan where is he located? I would be interested in at least one strap too, maybe two. I'm sure many of the others on this forum would also be interested. Just by advertising here on the forum he could make a few bucks.

The problem seems to be that he makes good money making holsters and other leather goods for the US market. He has to be convinced there's a big enough demand to do a production run in his factory. The few straps he's made for me and Gareth (VV) he's made personally at his home workshop.
The nice thing is he's a player himself and understands the ins and outs of straps. He even makes mine with non-split holes the right size for Schaller Straplocks. The only downside to his straps is they are seriously solid - they take a little while to break in and don't flex much at first. The upside of this is they are good enough to last a lifetime - I've always found that the straps that are perfectly comfortable when new get too soft when they break in.
Maybe I should find out what his minimum amount would be for a production run. If it's not too big, maybe I'll invest my next royalty check in a batch and sell them.
