to raise or not to raise?

i have an epiphone flying v and have been getting loads of fret buzz, a friend told me that to stop this i should raise the bridge. should i get a pro to do it or should i do it myself

It's not difficult to do yourself, but first check the neck relief and adjust the truss rod if needed.

If you feel that this is not something you want to take on yourself then take the guitar to a good guitar tech. A professional setup - neck, bridge, intonation - need not cost mega bucks.
