Man, I really like the sound of these guys:

The new ones at NAMM:
Any one of these would suit my needs for a lightweight backup to my tube amp, for over-driven tone at low volume, and perfect for taking over to peoples' houses for jamming through my little solid state practise amp or a hi-fi.
Unfortunately, the new ones allow you to turn off the speaker simulator - allowing you to use them with a tube amp as a kind of dynamic overdrive pedal - but the old ones don't. And it's the older blonde one that I'd like the most (although for another style, that Oxford Orange simulator sounds the business). It'd be kind of unfortunate to limit one kind of use because of the older tech (although using it with the tube amp wouldn't be the main reason to get it).
Any idea where I could test one in CT to learn what they sound like in reality? Any experience with this series?
