Hi
I fancy getting myself a wider neck acoustic guitar as I don't feel too comfortable on these slim necks
I tried a Recording King RD-227 and loved the wide fret board ( 1-3/4 inch nut ). The guitar is a vintage design and has a V shaped neck which I am not too sure about. The other thing I didn't like is the fact the neck was covered in glossy lacquer.
Has anyone here got any experience with this guitar and how do they find it for playability and sound ?
If someone can suggest alternatives then that would also be great ( budget up to £650 )
The criteria is as follows:
1. 1-3/4 inch nut width
2. Solid spruce top
3. Solid rosewood back and sides
4. Semi satin or satin neck
I'm not keen on mahogany bodies as I feel they don't project the sound well
I haven't tried any guitars with maple back and sides but I assume these will sound brighter than rosewood
Finally how will I cope with a normal electric guitar after playing a wide neck acoustic ?
Anyone here with both types of guitars and how do you find the change to the electric ?
All suggestions , help and advice welcome

If you play both guitars regularly, there is no feeling of having to adjust.
At least, I don't get it with my favourite guitars for more than half a minute, I do get it with other people's axes and with the ones of my own that I don't play enough.

I suppose common sense tells me to have both guitars with the same fretboard width then I don't have to worry about adjusting from one to the other.
Recently I've just been strumming away on my acoustic and haven't touched my electric for a few months
I guess if my acoustic was one with a 1-3/4 inch nut then I'll find it difficult to adjust to the electric after such a period of time
Have you got any experience with the V shaped neck as I've always only had a guitar with a normal rounded neck ?
What other guitars are available with this size of nut but with a normal neck ???
