How happy are you with your Smoothtalker? You must be tired of that question.
The playability is excellent, and I do not believe that there is an acoustic guitar with better ergonomics. It feels tiny when you play it. The balance of the instrument - physical balance - is excellent.
The subjective issues come down to sound and aesthetics.
The Smoothtalker does have it's own distinct sonic character and that may not please everybody. I like the separation of the strings and the dynamics of the instrument. You can tickle these guitars really lightly and still get a note out of them. However you can max them out by playing too hard. They do have a very bright sound. The sides are acoustically dead (and about 3/4 inch thick) so they add no overtones. If you get Mervyn to fit a pickup (he uses the Baggs Active Element) you will find that you can great pretty loud with no feedback problems.
The looks are another issue. Some will like it, some will hate it, everybody will notice it. As with the sound, the Smoothtalker makes a very strong visual statement (which can be a good thing - you can play like a doos and everybody's just going "do you see that guitar").
