That's really awesome Keira! Beautiful guitars. I'm sure if you decided to sell some, there won't be a shortage of buyers.... ?
yeah well i'm selling the CG171S (top of yamaha current production range and the cheap C40 ) decided to keep the 2 vintage ones.... and the CGX has travelled too many times with me not to have sentimental value.....
i tendto favour the older tone.... there is a definite change in the tone over the years of classical guitar ...moving from the rich deep warm tones to a more punchy mid type sound that cuts beautifully and is very immeadiate when one plays and the new guitars are definitely more player frindly with slightly narrower necks and flatter profiles......but yeah i like the fat baseball bat necks and the extra wide necks and deeper bodies.... and yes i think making them more player friendly has altered the tone some.......
here's some pics of my favourites
my beloved G120 almost 40 years old and has a trad feel to it .... and awesome tone
and then the one i will keep as it's back up is the G225 with a slightly less bassier tone but still 30 yrs old and a D shaped neck profile...which i DO NOT like ...... but it has great tone
however the CG171 S is by far the prettiest guitar...... so if you into awesome wood and shiny guitars(which i am not...i like the distressed ones better) here are some pics of the CG171 which if you like is for sale ......
beautiful solid european spruce top
indian rosewood back and sides with awesome grain visible
awesome back ,,, sorry for reflection but shot it with a phone camera ..but lovely inlay down the back and around the guitar
and one added bonus is tiny inlays between the strings on the bridge,,, very tastefull and sorry for blurred shot but you can see then tho
and lastly a shot of the gold tuners.they incredibly smooth and i'm resisting the temptation on principle to swop the tuners out with my main guitar .... cos they are far superior..can't see a brand name on em but they definitely top end.....
