Big fan too! Their concert was the best i've ever attended. While they may not have had the best energy on stage (that said, it wasn't bad for a bunch of 'older' punks) their recreation of the music was almost flawless.
The intro to Kids is one of my 'warm ups'...
NorioDS
I LOVE The Offspring. They were my first real intro into anything alternative and "Heavy", back when I was still into dof-dof music and poep, er, pop. ?

poep, er, pop
Maybe I shouldn't be asking what this is. ???

The splinter album is also pretty awesome. every song i love. the noose is an awesome song
Spyke
Splinter is very good, if not one of their best.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for their latest one, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace... almost as bad as Conspiracy of One. Only decent song on it is Trust in Me which harks back to their Smash days.
☹ <- this is me, utterly disappointed.

I must say conspiracy Of One is most probably there worst album ever. Thats my point of view. There is one song i like on there "Living In Chaos" got an awesome intro. I have Americana, conspiracy Of One, greatest hits, Ixnay On The Hombre(also not that good) and splinter.
Spyke
Well seeing as this has turned into an official hi-jack... ?
I can live with Million Miles, Want you Bad and Damnit, I Changed Again. Damnit is actually very good even if it's licks are a reworking of Kids.
Their first two albums are also a little rough, fan only kind of material. Lots of energy but badly bolted together.
I was really hoping they'd ride the crest of Splinter with their new one but it seems that's not the case. Like Ixnay was a weak follow-on to Smash (which will always be my favourite), RFRG is just as appalling.

Smash has also been one of my favorite albums. This is the album that made them famous. I read on offspring's site a few months after splinter was released. They said they working on the best album that Offspring ever released. I guess it didn't happen, Never heard any of there music after splinter. i've gone into more of the psychic death seen as my boss says

Other amazing players include Gus G. of Firewind, John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Michael Keene of The Faceless, Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth, Kris Norris of Darkest Hour, Karl Sanders of Nile, Chuck Schuldiner of Death, Jeff Waters of Annihilator, Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Wessel Geldenhuys of Leslie Scarlet, Muhammed Suicmez of Necrophagist, Buckethead of Buckethead and of course the mighty Chris Broderick (ex. Nevermore and Megadeth)
Although Michael Amott has been my personal guitar hero since I started playing, I now realize that he is slightly over-hyped, since it's his younger brother, Christopher Amott, that wrote some of their best riffs (most of the stuff on their best album, Burning Bridges) and a lot of the their best lead work done by him on his Caparison Dellinger Custom.

Jim Root (Slipknot/Stone Sour)
Mick Thomson(Slipknot)
i really dig Jim Rott, but what i've seen is that Mick's probably a lot better so if i mention Jim i gotta mention Mick ?
Robert Flynn(Machine Head)
he was a team captain in the Roadrunner united All Stars CD(if you haven't heard it,YOU MISSING OUT!!!)
Justin hagberg (3 Inches of Blood)
Matt Tuck(Bullet For My Valentine)
i don't really like him that much, but alot of young guys are into 'em
Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage)
i love this band, they are amazing...
don't know if this will help out,to be honest i didn't read the hole thread :-[

John Petrucci of Dream Theater is almost legend status I think. Dream Theater has done so much and they have been together for over 20 years. When they came out they were ahead of the times. John is getting there.
