Alan87 Here is my latest addition. Self-built Telecaster with active EMG 81 and 85 combo, Schaller roller bridge, Schaller tuners and Might Mite maple neck with wallnut stripe. Will put pics of the rest up soon.
PeteM Very nice Alan - welcome to the forum BTW - good to see more Durbs okes here. It's time to introduce yourself in the introductions section - let us know where you play, what other gear you have, type of music you like, plus more about the guitar-build thing etc. I'm sure you've got lots to contribute.
Gearhead Yeah good to see another builder join ? That is a gooood looking Tele. Sapeli? The black on white theme always does it for me. Hats off. Sorry to see that those wide pup pluggies on the EMGs made you do a back route - why did you not cover this up with a glued in piece?
Alan87 Thanks Gearhead. Thought about covering it with a glued-in piece but decided it would make replacing pickups and wiring in future far easier if it was more accessable at that junction.
Corne Remind me of a combination of the 72 Telecaster Deluxe and the Jim Root Telecaster. My dad had the 72 Telecaster Deluxe. http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0137702392 Jim Root http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0134444706
Alan87 The Jim Root Tele was the inspiration for this guitar eventhough I dislike Slipknot a great deal. Saw it in a guitar mag and it was exactly what I had thought abouty doing. Seeing that it had been done assured me that it could be built yourself.
