Finally, something interesting to show and tell

So I got this Ibanez in a trade. What do you think? I cant figure out the model or age, seems late 60's or 70's. What about the split pup's? Is it stereo or something?

I will take it to Andy McGibbons for a quote to fix the missing nut, setup and tend to some cracks in the binding joins etc...

I am keen to hear it one day soon ?

No idea on the model - many of the early Ibanii were odd guitars, often following the early Italian school of "how many pickups/buttons/knobs can we fit in this sucker?" design.

The pickups are split single coils like the P-Bass pickup, but with bar magnets and adjustable polepieces.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but I'm gonna take a wild guess.

Based on the fact that it has what looks like two 3-way toggles and very unusual split pickups, I'm guessing that the guitar is stereo, split into bass side and treble side. The extra 2-way toggle would then be a mono/stereo switch. You could use the bridge pickup for the bass strings and mix it with the neck pickup for the trebles. If I'm right, it's a pretty wild design.

Any guess as to what wood the top is made of? Good swop for a PSP I reckon.

That's Indian rosewood, but knowing the Ibanii of that time period, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a veneer on a relatively inexpensive ply top.
