I remember playing bass on a 200W bassman. I was standing in front of it and when I played a note I could feel the wind pushing past me.

Or plugging your bass into Gearhouse's Trace Elliot stack and feeling the whole stage rumble...

I love the way my fingers tingle and hum while playing the last set of a long hard night.
I also love the way you can you can snatch a fly out of midair between your thumb and forefinger after practicing Paganini arpeggios at 280 bpm LOL ?

Cant find my Plectrum and I play with my fingers and and it sounds better.

Getting a riff right for the first time after lots of practice...especially the the timing, bends, legato etc. I remember getting the bends just right in when playing the intro to Eric Clapton's "wonderful tonight" pure pleasure!

Finally getting a piece to sound like it did in my head when I first thought about it.
The sound of new strings, even the sound of fingers touching the body of the guitar.

That long sustained note, followed by a tapped harmonic, followed by the feedback and slight wiggle of the whammy bar.

The many A HA moments when you're busy practising or writing music.

The feel of week old strings.

The "Purple Haze" chord with just the right amount of fur.

Arpeggiated add 9th chords (with some open strings thrown in).

Cleaning and polishing the guitar.

Lastly, the part where you forget about things like payday, outstanding bills, debt, nagging-wife-who-doesn't-understand-your-relationship-with-your-guitar and find THE ZONE where you played something so brilliant that you can't remember it.

I don't think we as the guitarist species are well LOL! If an outsider would read this topic, he will probably conclude it's confessions from members in a support group. Not that it's wrong...it's a sickness I cherish ?

Yep, I sure do love plugging things into the appropriate sockets. I also love watching a concert live or on dvd and hearing something awesome and realising, hey... I can play that!

ps I am 100% certain that my guitar got me my first high school girlfriend 8) probably the second and third as well.
