Piezo pickup

Hi,

I'm leaning towards adding a piezo to my Tele. I'd like to get a decent acoustic sound from my Tele.
I've been looking at the graphtech Acousti-Phonic kit and saddles.

What other suggestions are there?

I do think that the ghost system (or acoustiphonic w/e) is the best out there?

Yeah, the Graph Tech are the ones to go for. I have two guitars with the Graph Tech GHOST system, one with the added 13-pin Hexpander.

Fishman are all right too, but the GT Ghost system has the edge in tone and durability.

Can you get the Graphtech locally or will I have to get them from StewMac? Will most guitar techs know how to fit it?

No one sells them locally. You can however buy them from Graph Tech directly.
What type of bridge does your Tele have?
These Graph Tech Piezo are really easy to install.
I'm used to the Tele Deluxe(Strat look alike Bridge) so pardon my question.

@ Corne - I actually just got of the phone with Music Connection in Jhb. They still have 1 Graphtech ghost system left. I'm going through later today so they can install it. ?

With the Graphtec Ghost system it's only the saddles that get replaced, you don't have to change the bridge. ?

Make sure they are the correct saddles CDee - there are three different widths for Telecaster. The narrower ones will fit, but will move around a little, which can cause problems with the wires going into the saddles.

Otherwise, If you don't come right, I have good contacts at Graph Tech (I helped Beta test some of the Ghost series and endorsed them for a few years).

I did see they had different saddles on the Graphtech website. I'll make sure from MC that they use the correct ones. I did specify that is was Deluxe Tele, but you never know...

When I wanted to purchase my Piezo System I had to import them.
Phoned all over Jozi and no-one had any.

Thanks for that Alan, I got there and indeed, the saddles were the wrong ones. But at least Mando also saw it right away. Something about the compensated saddles in the American Deluxe and not on a standard or something... ☹

Yeah - certain years had the intonation screws offset three left, three right or all six offset to the right:

I measured it and read up on it a bit and it looks like these are the ones I need. But alas, I'm not 100% sure... :-\ :-[

Yup those are the right ones - your bridge has the narrower 2-1/16" string spacing.
