I am in the market for a portable , decent amp . And i stumbled across pignose amp , i am heard the name before and the youtube clips sound very promising , anybody actually tried one of these can you get them in this country , or am i gonna have to import one .

A classic amp with a vibe all of their own. Gnarly overdrive, full of attitude. Don't expect sweet valve tones. Frank Zappa used to record with one regularly and Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way” and Eric Clapton’s “Motherless Children” were both recorded with a pignose.

I have one. I've had it for years.
What is quit nice about it is that it has a hinged cabinet so you can open and close the cabinet to change the sound from chunky to treble shrill and anything in between. Also it you get a mate to open and close the cabinet to a rythm u can get a WAH WAH sound. Just gotta find someone who is willing to waste time and stand there opening and closing your cab.........maybe ask your drummer ?
There is hardly any clean headroom on the amp and with volume full it has a very 'torn speaker' sound.
I'm in stellenbosch so if u ever come this way u r welcome to try mine out.
