To realise the value of ONE YEAR,
Ask a student who has failed his exam.
To realise the value of ONE MONTH,
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realise the value of ONE WEEK,
Ask an editor of a weekly.
To realise the value of ONE DAY,
Ask a daily-wage labourer.
To realise the value of ONE HOUR,
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realise the value of ONE MINUTE,
Ask a person who has missed a train.
To realise the value of ONE SECOND,
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realise the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND,
Ask a person who has won a silver medal in Olympics.

The older I get the more I think about time ☹
Good stuff Linds

That's very good. Reminds me of a line in Pink Floyd's Time: "And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun". Things like this has more impact as one gets older.

To realise the value of ONE LIGHT YEAR
ask an electron approaching the speed of light and then ask a certain MR Einy why everyone is nailing you for using a measure of distance in a measure of time analogy and then take a cold shower and lie down.....
To realise the value of ONE QUARTER NOTE
Go to your local bar and laboriously saw it into four equal parts.
OK I clearly need my pills again...

the concept and construct of time fascinates me ..i think and philosophise about it constantly to myself ... it drives me mad sometimes.
I often think of the concept of banking time to be used at a later more opportune moment in time ...
its going to make me mad i tell you

Ya but if you bank your time it means you're going to have to use some of somebody else's time - hopefully not mine - cause I don't have any!

Guess what - I saw I've been logged in for EXACTLY 2 days and 0 hours and minutes - RIGHT NOW!
SO in this flowing river of time I managed to trap 2 days in the time bank IceCreamMan spoke of (and the only thing that made me aware of it is that it was a round number). And that 2 days of time I invested brought an enrichment to my life and a return! Howabout THAT!. So I guess time well spent is time in the Time Bank?
What the ...horology! WHat a word!
Yip Wizard - lose something and find the value of time - cause maybe the time you had wasn't used properly!

i never valued time till i had a NDE (near death experience) while travelling in thailand in 2006 ... since then i have learnt how quickly and unexpectedly one can be ,,,"no more"
and after the shock of it wore off......i started using my time i have left for only things that bring me joy and makes my soul happy ........ and i have become very aware of my Karma and repaying any karmic debt i have accumilated.......... and keeping my karma as pure as possible by my actions.........
i don't know how i excisted before ........
so yes losing something ....or coming close to losing it will definitely change your perspective on time .....
