Fallen Friends

NorioDS

Beautiful song, nicely recorded. But especially... so haunting! Love the harmonics and the tapping bits. Very very haunting.

(Yes, by our very own Guy Onraet - awesome ?)

CDee

WOW! Very well done! Awesome talent! ?

Nice Guy! Just super stuff!!!

PeteM

Well that's just wonderful.
I can't help harping back to a thread in which someone asked if South African musos/guitarist are on a par with the rest of the world - say no more.

Squonk

Guy does good stuff.
Check out his website and Myspace, some excellent stuff there.

I am very fortunate to have a copy of Guy's album (CD) "Invention City" which has that track on, (track eight). Do yourselves a favour and try and get hold of a copy!!!! Every track is a gem.

Guy is an AWESOME guitarist, great composer, and fantastic person to boot. The guys in CT are lucky to be able to get to hear this incredible muso in person. Once again, well done Guy.......... :applause:

@Guy: So where can we get your album! You might go platinum in sales from GFSA members ?

You are so right Pete........four names who I put into "World Class" right here on this forum ........(apologies to probably many others who I don't know of)...... in no particular order, because I believe they have quite different styles are:

Guy Onraet, Andrew Bryson, (also have a copy of his CD "Station B12"), Arjun Menon, and Evolucion (Peter Theron) .............

Get the album at Guy's Website

Agreed Aubs. But lets add Pete to that and the lady that smokes em all imo, Keira. Jup, we've got talent allright. World class musos the lot of them!

Guy-Onraet

Wow, haven't been here in ages.

Thanks for posting Norio, and for the kind words as well.
PeteM, Lean, Aubs, G, Jack Flash Jr, Squonk, CD, Chris77 - you guys rock!! Glad you all liked it.

I agree, there are quite a few great guitarist across many genres on the forum. All down to many thousands of hours of focused, physical practice I'm sure.
I'll chuck the names, Manfred, Rene and Stratisfear into the mix as well.

About my album, well it's against the rules to say anything about it, but Squonk knows ?

singemonkey

That's magical stuff. I've never heard such a wonderful translation of "shred" skills into a solo acoustic piece. So often it sounds like multiple instruments - like the whole damn Egyptian orchestra. And it's such a coherent song, everything adds to the mood. Vocals truly unnecessary.

guitarboy2828

Gulp, that was awesome.. Andy mckee would be impressed! ?

Guy-Onraet

Singemonkey, guitarboy2828, joel - cheers guys! Those kind of words make all the effort all the more worth while.
Rock on!
