Left handed guitars

Esteemed members of GFSA, please hear my question and your thoughts.

In my quest of late to get another guitar i have done a lot of research into the left hand market overseas. I was thinking that if i am struggling like this then so are other lefties.(although lefties are a very small proportion). Local business just dont cater for us. There are some avaialble but pickings are extrmely thin. In my research i hounded ppl all over the world before deciding on a custom made jobbie which is expensive and one ends up paying horrific transport costs.

I was thinking of setting up a small business catering exclusively for the left handed guitarist and only for guitars. The idea would be to generate a small normal profit just to cover my expenses and the time value of money. (ie no real profit ) Unfortunately left handed guitars are already expensive and i owuld not want to sit with stuff that would never sell. I could land and resell custom made left handed jobbies from about 7500. yeah its expensive but these are well made guitars.

So question is , would this be a worhtwhile venture in terms of effort and time ?

I think the market is too small to support it - which is why sinisters aren't catered for in the first place.

Thats where my thoughts are headed as well. Whilst i dont necessarily want to make money out of this venture i would need to recoup my outlay at the very minimum.

The research that i have done lately to feed my GAS habit has led me to get a custom guitar made and have it shipped here. Expensive but the GAS itch takes a lot of scratching. So long as my wife dont find out that i have raided one of overseas accounts to pay for it ?
