Just a warning that Electro Harmonix pedals are not the most reliable. I've had first hand experience ☹
No kidding!
They are mostly made with SMD these days, gone are the through parts and access to service manuals... I needed to repair one and couldn't because of all the SMD crap, but I requested a manual anyway. They blew off and told me to ship the peal back for repair... they wanted $30 for the repair and the shipping both ways, it would cost more than the pedal!!!!
Even Howard Davis, who was chief designer at EHX in the old days won't touch the new pedals... from his website:
There are a few Electro-Harmonix products I do not service for various reasons. Either I did not design them and the technical documentation is poor, parts are unavailable, or they are difficult to work on and the labor charge would be more than the unit is worth. These include: Microsynth, Bass Microsynth, 16 Second Delay, Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai, Holy Grail and all other DIGITAL pedals, the Russian-made Sovtek reissues, and most vacuum tube-based pedals.
Not included are many/most of the new pedals, which are SMD.
I can tell you know the labour is worth more than most of their budget (under $150USD) pedals... sign of the times, GRRR.
I'm actually in the process of gutting Tariuq's Metal Muff and building a custom pedal in there based on the Mesa Pre called Dr. Boogie... thankfully the knob nomenclature matches the Metal Muff, but it is going to sound much better than the Metal Muff ever did when it DID work.
Cheers
