Bob-Dubery DonovanB wrote Is it me or does her Guitar say "Norio" on it? I was trying to make it read "Ibanez" but I couldn't.
Bob-Dubery MIKA the better one wrote AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING I actually think its amazing A lot of interesting things there. In particular I enjoyed the lyrics and the use of the guitar.
Squonk I think it's brilliant, but I wouldn't marry her ? Like Bob says, brilliant use of the guitar, and I love all the other instruments, Harmonies etc.
MIKA-the-better-one if you squint (or gouge an eye) its says both ibanez and norio....... I doubt my girlfriend would allow me to marry her, but I do enjoy the song, agreed it is quite abstract like, but I do prefer that to most things. Her guitaring is what really makes it come alive I think. you dont (I have never) seen a girl play like that. Anyone know what guitar it actually is???
NorioDS While we're on the topic, Tara McLeod (guitarist) for Kittie is *nom nom nom*: And I think she plays nicer guitar *ducks*
AlanRatcliffe DonovanB wrote Is it me or does her Guitar say "Norio" on it? It's you. ? It says Harmony. Vocally she sounds a lot like Bjork with a bit of extra jazziness and some fuzz.
Bob-Dubery MIKA the better one wrote AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING I actually think its amazing From the Austin City Limits TV series. They have some fab stuff - some of it (but not enough) on DVD. A great series, mostly rootsy things but they do branch out, and the production always emphasises the music.
DonovanB Alan Ratcliffe wrote Vocally she sounds a lot like Bjork with a bit of extra jazziness and some fuzz. Are you talking about the woman from Kittie?
IceCreamMan Norio wrote While we're on the topic, Tara McLeod (guitarist) for Kittie is *nom nom nom*: And I think she plays nicer guitar *ducks* Thats a tad hardcore for my ears ..give me some peaceful Maiden
AlanRatcliffe DonovanB wrote Are you talking about the woman from Kittie? No the other one - her vocals are very Bjork influenced, pitch, phrasing, everything.
PeteM I like that Mika - simplicity wins the day. I don't know the band but looks to me to be a bunch of graduates from a music college/university.
MIKA-the-better-one you are probably very right, I just find it quite fresh and cool to listen to, not to heavy but still exciting, not to light but still got a bit of substance. and they can obviously appreciate a few types of music into their own blend. Sadly though bands like this never become to big or big enough to earn millions of $ from their music BUT i think its worth it to make music you love. and have enough to live
NorioDS MIKA the better one wrote i think its worth it to make music you love. and have enough to live Amen! Nail on the head and all that ?
MIKA-the-better-one It is quite interesting, I have always liked vocal effects, not so much vocal correction but effects are cool. If you think about it mist bands have one singer, with one voice thus acts as another instrument, but if you get all four guys in the band to use their vocals as an instrument you can layer more coolness in. I dont think many people think of the voice as an instrument that could be used either melodically or rythmicallly
[deleted] her vocals are very Bjork influenced, pitch, phrasing, everything. Phrasing perhaps, but Bjork has more nasal- mewl- screech in her voice. This lady is a bit more subdued. Very rhythmic, kinda pulls the song forward.
