Not that I've played too many but in my case it will have to be a
1.a pre-60's Fender Strat; 2. definately a '59 Les Paul (too hear for myself!) 3. a 60's Gibson super 400; 4. any Martin and Taylor acoustic; 5. a 50's Gretsch 6120...the Duane Eddy models

I wanna play a top-end Gibson - also just to hear/feel for myself what all the fuss is about.

Maybe also a strat and a telecaster but mainly out of curiosity. I far prefer guitars that don't twang ?

Other than that, I really REALLY want a JS1200 plus a personal luthier to tweak it a bit for me ?

This won't do, these two deserve their own thread! My list for starters: Any R.Taylor: preferably a Style One with an engelmann top and brazillian back and sides, not that I'm picky or anything... An 814ce would also be a must as well as a straight acoustic 910. Now for the Martins: a vintage D18 and D28, a nice, shiny new D45 and an Eric Clapton 00028. The list goes on, but I'll leave it at that for now.

You should be more specific. The current bottom-of-the-range Martins are really nothing to get excited about.

Amen to the D'angelico. Also Gibson ES-335, dont mind which.

Any nice guitar that I made myself...

But other than that, a 59 Les Paul definitely - not that I've ever played a Gibson Les Paul before, only Epiphones, but I might as well have a go on the most sought after if I get to choose.

i'm afraid my tastes are way more retro and would dearly love to play one of the few excisting louis panorma guitars which are still playable ....... like this one ... even just for a few hours...cos i could never afford one .....

That's a special piece of history. If Torres started with them, they must have something sonically too.

I would hate to play ANY guitar and not be able to own it!!!!! ? It's just too 'traumatic'...... hahahahaha ........

However, would love to (here we go again :? ) play (well own) a PRS 513 and a Modern Eagle II or III ....... then I will die a very happy chappie ..... ? ?

Looking at the kit lists on the two posts above, I tinks you okes got more than enought resources to float around in. Anyway, I've been itching to get hold of one of these Danelectro jobbies with the lipstick pickups but can only find them on Take2. Dont seem to be stocked locally.
