that according to my handy little humidity gauge it is still around 50% RH in Jo'burg and thus your acoustic guitars (if not their owners) should be happy.

I left mine out of their cases on stands last night, and they're still breathing fresh air this morning.

Having just got a decent accoustic what do i need todo to keep it happy , been in the cape i would assume our humidity is higher . What do i need to get to keep the guitar happy .

I assume you're referring to your new Cort. Is the top solid wood or laminate?

Using the Metrocast dropdown I find that RH is reported at 83% for Joeys, 48% for CT.

AFAIK you should start humidifying when RH drops to 40%. Andy McGibbon told me that if your skin feels dry then it's probably time to start humidifying.

Bob Taylor in the Acoustic Guitar Owner's Manual says that most production lines are conditioned to about 45% and that 30% is when you will usually start noticing a lowering action, buzzes and maybe the fret ends starting to protrude.
