Boss GT-8

Proud to announce I'm the owner of the R2000 Gumtree Boss GT-8. I think it was a decent buy. Works fine and is in very condition. Didn't get the original box or the processor-to-pc cable with though, but got the power cable and manual with.

Now to figure out how everything works.

Well done - I wish you and your new missus many hours of happiness The processor to PC cable is just a common garden variety usb printer cable. Troll the net for a manual called GT-8 Brilliance it gives you a lot of in depth tips and tricks on getting the best out of the GT-8 I wish they would release one for the GT-10.

Use a MIDI cable and get the GT8 edotor from GT central

That's why I bought it initially, I get a kick out of buying bargains. But when I discovered the delay I got my real kick. Never knew delay could be so much fun. Thanks Rene and Donovan. Will check that out as soon as I got the basics behind my back. I'm going to spend at least another couple of days utterly confused.

What I like about the delay is that it makes your drive sounds so much richer and fuller, a more rounded sound if that makes any sense at all.

If i was stuck on an island with a guitar & amp and I could choose 1 effect - it would be Delay (analog or tape)

if you sit and jam anywhere near your pc I promise the GT editor is a breeze. It really simplifies the whole pedal and makes it as simples as using single pedals with a click of the mouse.

Well done on a good purchase! Reading the Boss forum I hear the GT10 has a problem where the Distortions sound like a "half cocked wah" I would hate that...

I'm still on the GT-6, which I paid more for second hand a few years ago than you did for the GT-8.

And if you're thinking of playing live, the GTs are great. Hard to kill. Mine has the Jagermeister residue to prove it... :-[

Although, on an island I will most likely be playing blues
(woke up this morning, ain't got no food,
with this survival stuff, man! i'm a noob...)
and don't use delay much for that ?
