This is wow..

Kate Bush effectively retired from the music biz to raise her son away from the glare of publicity. She released a new album, her first in 12 years, in 2005.

Interesting. Something very obvious from the Kate Bush videos is that she was a great studio singer and a great lip sync artist on stage. That gives her time to worry about pulling the right faces on stage and not caring about hitting the notes. Hayley actually pulled it off singing it on-stage. That was Wow.

Huh? What are you saying here? That Kate was doing a "Milli Vanilli" on stage?

sepheritoh

No. Milli Vanilli actually never even sang the studio versions neither!!!

Lyp syncing was THE in thing in the 70's and early 80's, so everybody did it, i.e. in pop music. Untill Pavaroti got caught out and it became unfasionable. It never was the thing in rock music however.

Actually, let me add to what I was saying. I only watched the videos. The Kate Bush ones are music videos. The Hayley one was a live performance. The Kate Bush Live ones are, erm... not so good

I like this one. I think it's one Gabriel's best songs, and it's a great performance by both singers. This is one that I find very moving. Gabriel putting his soul influences on show.

Bob-Dubery

She actually didn't do a lot of live work. One tour in 1979 and then occasional performances thereafter.

I love both Wuthering hights and Don't give up by her. I've always wondered when watching the video with Peter Gabriel how much her left ear must have hurt after the making of the video. Note, she actually has the cutessey of singing away from Peter's ear, while he does not give a damn for hers ?

evolucian

ah well.. its Peter Gabriel... who would wanna turn away

Squonk

This song from Kate that used to do it for me in the early 80's
Especially when she does the whole tree breathing thing
What a brilliant song though!
