There can not be so many guitar shops in Kimberley
A surprising number, actually. It may have the most guitar shops per capita of any SA town I've been to. Weird. Makes me wonder if there's a live music scene there.
I had a similar thing getting my pickups installed. I rushed to pick the guitar up from the first place when it became obvious that the guy didn't know what P-90s were. It took me a long time to realise how badly the second guy screwed up the wiring - even after he realised that the P-90s couldn't be mounted on the humbucker mounting plates (honestly, I found this stuff out after 10 minutes on the internet. Why couldn't he?). I asked him to wire them so that the two pickups would cancel hum when used together (middle position on the toggle-switch). I finally worked out that, in the middle position, only the neck pickup is on... but the volume is controlled by the bridge pickup control knobs!
Also the bridge pickup's string volume levels were totally messed up. Thank gd for the forum because I can reasonably expect that a guy recommended from here will actually know one end of a guitar from the other.
How the hell do people like that think they can charge money for guitar work?
