Here's a really nice explanation of room acoustics and how to set up a listening room/studio. I still haven't gotten around to doing the acoustic treatment in my room, and after watching this I now kinda remembered about that again...
The discussion around bass and bass traps is especially interesting. I noticed the problems with bass in my untreated room- I'm sure I experienced the "one-note bass" effect. I found that I tend to select wrong bass notes, and the lower the notes, the more "tonedeaf" I seem to become. Well maybe I am... :-[... but I'm now suitably reminded and motivated to build some bass traps!
