I have a preference for a loose, almost wooly sound. Seeing that a 2x12 is, as you say, looser, I get the feeling I will prefer it. But who knows, I love Dan Patlanskys tone, and he plays through a 4x10, admittedly his amp is a Dr Z... ☹

Indeed. The nice thing about the JC was the addition of casters. Easier to haul around. Also, a benefit for me in getting the head and cab is that I will be able to use other heads.
