You Rock Guitar!

This is fantastic! I used to own an old Korg Midi Convertor and module, but the problem with even the best guitars, esp for midi has been poor at best, not to mention expensive! So along comes You Rock Guitar, which is SOOOO much more than that, it was conceived as an idea to get guys playing 'REAL' guitar instead of Rock Band or Guitar Hero so here we have a controller that has real strings that you actually PLAY.

But not stopping there they added a digital on board recorder, midi, a USB interface, onboard sounds and backing tracks, with preset scales where you can't play a bum note, great for beginners... and it is set to sell for under $200! Which is insane!

Look it isn't going to replace a REAL guitar, but it offers tools that compliment one and does things a REAL guitar can't.

I'm impressed...

Cool! I'm guessing it's using fret triggering, something like the old Guitorgans. In other words there's no need for pitch to MIDI conversion - the strings and the frets work together as switches, which is as fast as it gets. However, that also means no left hand bends or vibrato - they'll all have to be done via the "whammy" bar. I think it's also safe to assume it's sending in poly mode, which means any bends will affect all the strings.

So I don't think it's quite ready to replace the guitar, but might be useful for laying down keys.

Correct on all accounts, and yes, great for keys and/or synth licks, all of that for under $200? They are small midi keyboard controllers with NO SOUND that cost more that that.
