I was living in London and they played regualrly. It was a double header with them and Saxon to see who could play the loudest.

I had tickets to their scheduled shows here in ZA in 2001 , 9/11 put paid to that.

Well really he got fired for being CAUGHT with drugs. They probably didn't care what you did and how much of it, but if you got bust by customs....

Watched the entire movie and the 2 hours bonus disk last night....a real character but more than meets the eye..seems like an all round nice guy too...

the movie is well worth watching ....

I got the Lemmy documentary from Nick. Probably the best documentary I have seen. While not knowing a lot of Motorhead, I still enjoyed it and even gave it to the GF to watch.
Ditto on Lemmy looking to be a really cool dude.

Ozzy said he must be made of iron and when you see him take his diabetes and blood pressure meds with Jack and Coke you can believe it. There were times when I felt I was getting short of breath listening to him though and when you see his tremors it is obvious he is not a healthy dude. Amazingly he is on 63 not out and I hope he gets to rock us for many years to come.

Actually, according to Lemmy, it was the drug type that was the issue - he was the only speedfreak in a band of acidheads. ? Freaked them out, so they used him getting caught as an excuse, slipping a replacement in while he was in custody...

Seems plausible. Hawkwind were always a trippy band.

Though I think most bands don't care what you take as long as it doesn't interfere with the work. The Stones didn't dump Brian Jones because he was stoned to the gills, but because he was pretty much a passenger in the studio and, more crucially, because his repeated busts had made it hard for them to get into the USA. I've known bands with straights and heads co-existing quite happily as long as the music (in studio or on the stage) didn't suffer.

If I am not mistaken it was 'Jerusalem' and not 'Nazareth' ?

Cool interview. I still have to finish watching the documentary about Lemmy, saw about half of it the other day and it was really interesting.
