BFD Tremolo available in SA?

Everything I've read says this totally nails the Fender Deluxe tube tremolo in a tiny, low-draw stompbox.

It sounds absolutely perfect for my needs. And It doesn't list at boutique prices either. Any idea whether they are sold in SA? I need a tremolo stomp box - one that's as warm and deep as possible, and that doesn't cut volume or dynamic range from the guitar so it won't get lost in a live mix. The standard boss pedal apparently drops volume, restricts the high end, and compresses the low end so it sounds unsuitable for what I need.

Tried the Carl Martin "Surf Trem"?

Definitely available in SA.

It looks good. Where's it available?

Dunno. I think that McGibbon's are the agents. They are certainly stockists.

You might also check out the Line 6 Modulation Modeler. I tried that and the Surf Trem back to back. I thought the Surf Trem shaded the MM by not very much as a tremolo pedal, but the MM did more so that's what I bought. It has two tremolo effects ("opto tremolo" and "bias tremolo" if that means anything to you). I've used those and I haven't noticed any loss of volume or tops.

I just did some checking. McGibbon's are indeed the local distributor. They say that Marshall in Cape Town stock the Carl Martin pedals and will either have a Surf Trem or can get a Surf Trem for you to try.

Thanks a lot Bob. I'll check it out.
