Very good. Not a colossal fan but I do enjoy their music.
Synyster Gates is the lead guitarist and also featured on Good Charlotte's, The River.

i agree, i would not classify them as melodic rock but they are really awesome. The Sinister Gates and Zacky Vengence custom Schecter Guitars are pretty sweet. I love The Beast and the Harlot track by them!

Awesome band , my favorite song from them is "Bat country" from their older albums.And Sinister's solo on "afterlife" on their new album is pretty much sick.If you want to hear some melodic metal check out children of bodom,Most people that like Avenged like them to.

Synister gates is the lead guitarist for avenged sevenfold. Most people in south africa dont know about them but they have been around for ages. Synister is well known for his extremely fast and technical playing in the UK. Listen to bat country from one of their older CD's, the solo is really impressive, at one point it goes to 120bpm in sixtuplets ( for those that dont know, thats 6 notes per beat which is moer fast ).
