Strawbs, Thin Lizzy, Peter Frampton, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Elton John, The Police, Yes, Deep Purple, The Scorpions, Aerosmith,
AC/DC, Dire Straits, The Eagles, Foreigner , Journey , Kiss, Kansas, Queen , Van Halen , ZZ Top, Steely Dan etc

I know some of these had roots in the 60's but they made it in the 70's

Your'e right.......In fact most of those had their roots in the 60's and were (maybe) influenced by the 60's...?.Eg. Led Zeppelin was a late 60's band who went on into the 70's....etc.
Strange thing is that in the minds of many the 70's will always be remembered as the disco decade... ? but I concede, the 70's gave us some music to remember...Eagles and Queen were excellent...!
