New track, comments please! (Melodic death metal/shred/instrumental)

BMU · 2009-12-15T12:42:16+00:00

I just finished a new track, for the first time in a long time. This thing ate my life and stole my sleep for the last week or more. But so worth it, I really like how it turned out. But then I'm hardly in a position to be objective right now. Would much appreciate some feedback. Thraeol - Engagement Nexus http://www.box.net/shared/y4l8ahoj3h Thraeol is my home recording project "band" name. The silly title is from a sci-fi book I'm reading, the song makes me think of epic space fleet battles. ? (No I never did outgrow my Star Wars phase.) The equipment: - Schecter Loomis 7-string through Line6 Bogner Uberschall amp sim. - Fender Jazz Bass Special through Line6 Polytone Minibrute amp sim...whatever that is. All I know is it sounds jazzy which is what I wanted. - Cubase Essential 4. * Edit: track updated with a less bass-dominating mix after comments below.

Evo - thanks dude. I had to go listen to what the 'atari sims' are hehe. Nintendo sweeps ftw... oh man I hope I'm not turning into Dragonforce ??? BWAAHAHAA.

Hey BMU, awesome track. Just goes to show the intensity of a 7 string.
Nicely done and i love the feel/rhythm of the track.
Those sweeps at 1:01 are way cool!

Kudos

Thanks Arjun! Appreciate the comments from such supremely skilled fellow players as you and Evolucion.

Please take a listen to the other one I posted if you get a chance. I'm not sure anymore it works as well as I'd intended, but maybe I'm over-analyzing:

Jeez..you just don't let up do you BMU ?

Just kidding..Velvet prime Sequence Anomaly was intense to say the least. Excellent playing.
I especially love the change at 0:38 and then the proggy one at 1:36 (i think).
Also liked the warp speed intro to the solo at 2:07 (hectic!!)
I like your sound man!

Excellent tune to mosh to

Cheers
