Hi...I was never ever in defense about the Gibson corporation ito ethics, running their business,neglecting the wishes of their supporters, etc. I was defending the quality of their products in general. As far as I'm concerned their management can go to blazes. And to "sign" JH (or his wife) up as an endorsee of any gibson product is a JOKE. Especially something that resembles a Strat.... ?

Just reading Alan's post off that thread with employees comments on working at Gibson. It's only too obvious why they suck, and why they just got busted for handling illegal wood - clearly there are enough people with grudges working there that they'd be mad to try get away with anything illegal.

Due to the jerk who's running it it seems lie, since the Norlin years, they've gained on the swings but lost on the roundabouts. Still quality issues (like in the 70's) but now just different quality issues.

Am I right in thinking that Fender was bought from CBS by former employees? That might explain why they've gone from strength to strength while Gibson is an embarrassing joke.

You will probably find there will be no lawsuit , the family who own the estate of jh have sold the rights to gibson for a very tidy profit

Like Tailon said, there will probably be no lawsuits, as Gibson did not break any laws or copyrights. Fenders copyright lies in the headstock design if I'm not mistaken, and not the body shape.

The mostly negative public fallout however was enough to make Gibson shelve it. At least I think so, they did not release any press statements or any news about pulling it, so who really knows what happened...?
