If you could have any guitar, amp ect. that ever existed (even if it was smashed or burnt) or still does existed in the music store down the road, or you know its around somewhere, what would you want?
I dont know what Id get. Maybe Jimi Hendrix strat and sell it for a whole lot of money or something like that.
Seventhson
I would have one of dimebags guitar's(one that he used)
AlanRatcliffe
Bar a few pickup upgrades here and there, pretty much what I have already...

How about an early 60's Vox AC15 for me? ?

I'm also happy with what I have at the moment.
Strat and a decent Les Paul, Boss GT8 and a VOX amp.
I
could do with a black Les Paul with Gold Hardware, a Kenny Wayne Shepherd Signature strat, and/or the John Mayer signature strat, the sunburst one.
Oh, and that limited edition hendrix monterey strat
inflames
I would say a Gibson Les Paul Custom. Already have my dream amp 8)

*Acoustic Guitar/s would have to be a Kevin Ryan Signature and a Larrivee OM10
*Electric guitar/s would be a Blue Burst Ratocaster and a Lentz DSL...
*Amp/s would be a Swart AST & a Dr Z mini Z
This Topic is DEEPLY flawed... 'Cause NO guitarist can have only one of each.... ?
Squonk
Yeah
maybe change it to ..If you could have any guitar.. This Week
I still want a good Jazz Guitar, especially one that can get me that Benson type of tone

There are three guitars that stick in my memory.
In ascending order of pain that would be inflicted on my wallet.
1) A "Dragonfly" acoustic by English luthier Richard Osborne. I played this at the Lewes Guitar Festival in 2007. Really lovely acoustic guitar. He had taken it as part exchange from a satisfied customer who was wanting a new Osborne. He was selling this one for 1400 quid which is not cheap, but I thought not that bad for an acoustic of this quality. I thought long and hard about that instrument. Going into the last week of that holiday, with a last stop scheduled in Brighton, just down the road from Lewes, I was looking likely to have a reasonable amount of cash left over. Then our luggage got ripped off between Lisbon and Barcelona and so priorities shifted.
2) A Lowden 032 that I played at Vintage Guitar in Northampton earlier this year. No bling, not even a gloss finish, but the detail work was superb and the sound was big and rich.
3) The Breedlove Phoenix that is sitting at Music Connection in Randburg. What a thrilling guitar to play. It's so alive, you can feel this thing pumping. And it's dynamic range is remarkable. You can hit it really hard and it doesn't blur at all.
If money was no object I'd look long and hard at instruments from Olson, Lowden, Linda Mazner or Danny Ferrington.

HAHA...Nice way of putting it.
I'm good with a mid to late 80's Off white MIJ Strat with rosewood fretboard and a 60's Vox AC30 ? Although, I wouldn't mind that '59 LP that Joe Walsh gave to Jimmy Page. Page did quite sexy things with that guitar ?
MIKA-the-better-one
Fender USA Jazzmaster RI, {white preferably}
Fender 59 bassman RI
simple, I dont want any dead dudes amp our guitar really cuz I risk him outshining the guitar and myself
MikeM
Allenamp Accomplice..
Tophat Supreme 16..
Some kinda blackie ripoff with Antiquities in neck and bridge and an A2 JB/Custom in bridge from MJ at Seymour.. And maybe some kinda LP. And a few pedals like Maxon OD820, Blackouts Twosome, Baber LTD and Tonepress and T-Rex Replica. Then I will be cured of gas and poor.
IceCreamMan
i'm a poser so it will be a jackson king V (with jenna graphic) for me ?
Vox valve amp to complement it
Jack-Flash-Jr
A Keef used '53 Tele. That's all. Funny quote:
"Even though Richards has used many different guitar models, in a 1986 Guitar World interview he joked that no matter what model he plays, "give me five minutes and I'll make 'em all sound the same."

thats a gooood quote

If it's not about resale value, I'd stick with my rather unexciting Norlin era Les Paul Deluxe. No body else's guitar could compete against my own guitar for me.
For an amp, an 18watt Marshall combo - which is completely within the realms of possibility for the future.
If I'm choosing someone else's guitar... I love Jimmy Page's no.1 Les Paul, but I fear the shaved down neck wouldn't agree with me. Clapton's Bluesbreaker Les Paul (what happened to that?) or Keith's Les Paul with the Bigsby on it that he had in the mid '60s.
Hmm... Buddy Holly's '54 Stratocaster would also be up there if all my Les Paul GAS was gone.
For resale, Jimmy Page's no.1 Les Paul. That is going to break all the price records one day.

I could do with a strat - need to add that distinctive sound to my arsenal.

Every Arsenal has a strat... 8)
