Yeah!
Time for our Trevor experience stories!!
I only saw him once life. By that time they were pretty famous. Him and Rabbit that is. The girls were going all wonky at the stage, screaming and throwing clothing at the stage, we could not even get close to see what he was doing on the axe.
We left after the show was half way through. Back home we practiced every note of locomotive breath. It was only a few months before he left the country. The next year I had to do the service. It was all weird and all. I became a store man because I "did not want to carry a gun" in the spirit of Trevor, Dylan, and the other greats, Cale and Rodriques. Nevertheless, I did not go as far as he did and denounce this whole godforsaken country. Yeah we were young and we knew sweet blue nothing. We just played our parts.
From that day I saw him I knew I was looking at something special. The first - and likely the only - guitar god I would see this close. I saw Clapton when he came to Swaziland many years later. As guitar god he was probably greater, but I was never close enough - or stoned enough - to feel the presence of the godliness, like I did that day I saw Trevor.
