Not an insult, I think it's cool that they feature real songs by great artists.

A waste of time for sure. to me anyway, I guess some people aren't interested in playing on stage like most of us so for them it shoudl be ok.

imo , guitar hero needs to be burnt at the stake . i am sick to death of people saying i rock and play guitar just because they played on a coloured guitar with no strings....... drives me nuts . learn to play the real thing .

I think it is fun for adults that do not have the desire to play the real thing.
I get upset that parents think that by getting their children to play guitar here will help them evolve musical.

It does help with hand eye coordination, but will never help you play the guitar.
It will teach the child that there is very little to play guitar.

I think it's great, I'd rather have kids growing up with and enjoying some of the great songs of our time (well in my case before my time) then Hanna Montanna sing along's and the like. The software is very intuitive and when you start getting good at it it actually looks like you're playing guitar like a pro. ?

Countless hours spent on Guitar Hero 1 and 2, made me decide to stop wasting time, and learn the real thing. 3 Years later, at age 30, and I've never regretted the decision...my wallet says otherwise though hehe. I just wish now I picked up guitar as a kid.

I think it's a bit elitist/snobbish to say, "burn it at the stake" and deny other people some harmless fun. Same could be said for any other simulation game. "Gran Turismo should be burnt at the stake, go drive a real race car!" ?

I must say, I'm thankful for Guitar Hero. It turned me into the n00bish guitar player I am today, and I'm loving every minute of it. ?

The Ztar, a true hybrid. It's mother was a Casino Keyboard and it's father was a Rietmullet Kitaar. However it doesn't sound half as good as either of it's parents ?

I don't think it shoud be burnt at the stake. It's a game and is meant to provide entertainment for the masses. I think the problem lies in the fact that a lot of kids playing guitar hero and getting getting good at it like to brag about how good a guitarist they are.

Personally I suck at guitar hero, about as much as I suck at the real thing ?

People should quite complaining, and develop a game that actually teaches you to play a real guitar. There won't be like, a Beatles edition, or a Rock Star edition or whatever. There'd be a Jazz edition, and a Shred edition, a finger-picking edition, or a Blues edition.

Just like you get "flight simulators" where you see the little plane on the screen and fly around exploding things, and flight simulators, in which you have to remember to turn the avionics on, test the breaks, start the fuel pumps, manipulate your radar azimuth, lock onto multiple targets, toggle your ECM system, etc..

Guitar Hero would be the former. The new thing (played on a real guitar) the latter.

There are actually 2 games i know of that you have to play a real guitar to the scrolling tabs .... Problem is if you go even slighty out of tune , you fail . And to get it dialled in is a bit difficult but they do exist .

But you want to be flying the A-10's, F22's and Su-35's... etc (Thank you ace combat) not fictitious planes and some guys don't want all that control. For me Flight simulator is boring and dull with all the control they give you and the realism.

I think a game that teaches you to play guitar would be rocking they could give you a USB device that you could stick your lead into. Upload the software and Jam away, set your difficulty and play songs you love, almost like a revised Guitar pro mixed with Guitar hero. They could change the Voicing/phrasing, limit the playing area.. etc depending on the difficulty setting. I don't think it would be that hard to make even, the only problem is you would need a real guitar but at the prices they sell these things at they could probably strike a deal with a guitar manufacturer and put in a little cheapy.
