Quick Question...

When the Jack pin can turn freely is it stuffed? The centre connection on a few of my leads are abled to move. I don't feel comfortable using them in case they make noise or lose the connection? Should I replace them?

Get Neutriks if you feel you can justify the price...it's all I use...last a lifetime

I just overhauled mine now. well not quite, I ripped off the broken connectors and used what I could to get more leads working.

I think I must get into the Neturik connectors.

What do you all do with broken leads anyway? I try keep them going but when I'm lazy I buy new ones. So now I have a lot of leads and only a few work.

+1 on the Neutriks. Expensive but worth it. When cables give out, reuse the plugs and just replace the cable. Some of my Neutrik plugs are 20 years old and on their fourth length of cable. ?

Matta also speaks very highly of the Amphenol plugs.

I only use neutrix jacks now , the cort had came with a decent cable , and since then i use only them they are reliable and will last a life time . You can hear the difference in sound from a cheap jack to a neutrix jack .

I've read that you should fix them or throw them away to avoid making mistakes and finding yourself with a bum cable. Not that I've taken this advice, and used to find myself cadging leads :-[

singe or tie a knot in it, thats the international sign for a forked cable ?

If anyone knows where to source neutriks please let me know, Ive called around and not a single place in CT had stock, best I could find was stereo angled, Im looking for mono angled ☹

Wild & Marr Cape, They are the Neutrik Agents for SA........I know that there is a general shortage of stock at the moment. I've just cleared out Joburg's stock at Wild & Marr......not sure when they get stock in again...I'll find out for you on Monday....
