I wouldn't say I'm new to them. But what is actually the difference between a tube amp and a valve amp. As far as I know they're the same thing but other people have told me that they are not the same. So could someone just clear that up for me. Am I right with what I know with them being the same or are they 2 different things?

They are the same. It's just two different terms, but both mean the same thing.
Edit: More specifically, called vacuum tube or electron tube in the U.S., and called thermionic valve or just valve elsewhere.
