Do any SA Music shops offer a HP monthly pay off plan?

Hi All

I have family in the states and all the big music shops offer a monthly pay plan. Just wondering if there are any in SA that do the same?
I need to update my acoustic rig and was looking at the Bose L1 Compact or fishman Solo but dropping that ammount of money all in one go will seriously hinder my childs ability to go to primary school.

Also, I am really Gassing for a Blues Deluxe.

Dammit, why couldn't I have fallen in love with the kazoo instead of guitar.

I think you may find places that will take your money and hold the gear for you but I dont know of anyone who'll let you take home. Why dont you hold your kid back couple of years and go ahead with what's important?

I had to hold him back to get my wifes DTXpress Special.... I dont think they allow 17 year olds in primary school ?

You can always approach your bank for finance rather than deal with the shop. That way you're dealing with your bank rather than whoever the shop choses to deal with, and if you have a good record with your bank you may get a better deal - plus the shop would get paid in cash and so you would expect a consideration for that.

Have you gone to view the compact at Marshall Music? They are the official Bose L1 reseller for the CT region.

The L1 compact is a really amazing PA system!

I'm hoping to check out the system in the next week. Have you played it? How does it handle lower frequencies (I play a lot in open C so E drops to C). From the research I have done it looks amazing.

The Fishman Solo has more features but in doing research for that I found out that the guy who developed the system for Fishman had a huge legal wrangle over it and has brought out his own version at half the price ($499) of the Fishman($999).

The problem with both those systems is that no-one in SA will have one to test so the Bose looks like the best bet. Just dont like the idea of not having a master volume to control the 2 channels and also it has no built in EQ on the guitar channel (which seems to be a major gripe with others looking at it)

The Bose L1 Compact goes for about R17,000 in SA and the USA retail is $999 (R7400 ex shipping). hmmmmm... maybe I should ship it.

Bothner's do credit via Consumer Credit, and I'm pretty sure other shops do that too. Ask and find out.

Save the money and buy cash. When you walk into a store with cash you have them by the knackers. When you use their credit offerings they have you by the knackers.

Thanks blokes will maybe check Bothners for the Valve GAS but I think the Bose will have to be shipped from the states considering its 10 gorillas more here than there. It weighs 16 kgs and I doubt shipping and customs will be more than R4000.

In fact if I am gonna ship, I might also check jack Campbell's system called the bagamp. He is the guy who Fishman supposedly ripped off.
His system is $499 and really I only need the system to play some blues/bossa/jazz in my coffee shop so I really dont need Bose state of the art but I do need the space saving design of these new systems.
