Thought it would be interesting to see how many people you guys and girls have played to - if I include my wife and daughter, then my total is two ?

About 25 people at a camp fire! That is why I did not quit my day job, realize I would not make it in the music industry ?

A little over 10 000 at one of the Oppis. King's Park Stadium, around 8000. Some other places there weren't quotes on crowd numbers... Those gigs are actually the easiest - you're not really looking anyone in the eye. Hahahaha.

Me about 150! Not that much would love to play in front of more!
PeteM
Full-house at the State Opera House - 1300.

about 3000-4000 people playing session at a music festival.
Danny-B
A few thousand at music festivals...my favourite audience was only about 50 people though ?
Bob-Dubery
I didn't count, but about 300 I would guess. That was with a band (a long time ago, in another life time). Since I started playing again I would think about 50 to 60 has been the biggest audience.
Riaan-Combrink
About 300.
I've actually found its more intimidating if there's less people - much more direct one-on-one contact to deal with.

yeah . i often perform the ussual festival circuit... but i too like the softer intimate gigs the best............. big crowds ussually mean big sound and for acoustic musicians thats ussually just more headaches with feedback and generally unnatural sounds....... and sound engineers who give you their idea of how you should sound heheheh so yeah i prefer more intimate venues.........

We opened for The Flames, (on their "See The Light" tour of Southern Africa, just before splitting up, (then Blondie and Ricky went on to play with the Beach Boys) at the Glamis Stadium, Salisbury, Rhodesia, (today Harare, Zimbabwe), for about 12 to 15,000.
We opened with a very controversial song at the time called "The Melting Pot", by a group called Blue Mink, another one hit wonder band, (Rhodesia was still sympathetic to the SA government at the time), and the stadium erupted! Will never forget that feeling.......
Here is a clip of the song, listen to the lyrics, anyone remember it? ....... ?

Hmmm as a DJ, Woodstock 2004 DMC tent roughly 400 people inside. Guitar, yeh maybe 5..at most at once. :-[

Roughly 32 - 32.5 thousand as part of a band called Thermal & a quarter when we opened for Deep Purple in Bangalore, India.
The best audience though numbered in the region of about 14 - 15. ?
