To change or not to change

Currently on my squier i have 500k pots for tone and volume , how will changing to 250k pots affect the overall tone . I would like to get a more bluesy kinda sound . How will the graphtec nut and string tree change the sound aswell .

String trees do nothing for tone, the nut might give more sustain and definition and the pots should remain where they are. Bluesy tone will not come from changing the guitar here, try looking at the amp and possibly the pedals. Your Cube 15 and Zoom 4040 could make way for a lekker small tube amp and you're there. My 2c ?

Swap the tone pot for a 250k if you have one lying around. It's basically similar to running the tone pot @ 5 and lower. 500k on a strat is very trebly in most cases IMO.

250K pots will warm up the guitar's tone - especially on the tone control (but the volume pot will have an effect too because it will load the pickups more). More like turning the tone pot down to 9 than 5 though (log taper pots remember). If the pickups are single-coil, the 250K will sound better, but if it's humbuckers, it'll turn 'em to mud (IMO).

How will the graphtec nut and string tree change the sound aswell .

If the nut you have now is the standard Squier plastic one, a Graph Tech will make a huge difference to tone, sustain - just general quality of tone.
