inflames Hi guys/gals, Need some advice, I have never used any of the processors mentioned above. I have only talked to friends that use the G-Major and G-Major2 and they believe it is the beez knees! So no knowledge on the Lexicon brand. Can anyone give me the pros and cons on the Lexicon MPX200. Which one should I pick? Regards, _-L-_
AlanRatcliffe For guitar? Given the choice of the two, the G-Major. The Lexicon is a good unit sound-wise (especially for the gorgeous Lexicon reverbs and delays, which are some of the best in the business IMO), but is limited in editing and only allows three effects at a time (and one of them is always compression, so it's more like two effects +compressor). Early G-Major OSs were buggy, but it seems like they got that sorted out. It's designed for guitar specifically and is great sounding - it may not have the Lexi reverbs and delays, but they are still great sounding.
AlanRatcliffe Gearhead wrote I haven't heard them side by side, but apparently the G-Force beats the G-Major hands down. It better - it's twice the price. ?
andrewjbryson Both are good. The Lexicon has some killer reverb & delays, as Alan mentioned. The G-major is very popular and most "youtube guitarists" have 1 in their Rig. The G Force is the ultimate as Trent Reznor (N.I.N), Steve Vai and many more use/ endorse it. Im looking to get my hands on the G Major, simply because it is at a more realistic price.
inflames Thanks Andrew, Yes, the price of a G-Major in SA is ridiculous vs USA. So I'm getting a friend in the states to send me one for half the price.
