Do any of you guys here compose jingles or scores for ads, tv, film and all that kinda stuff?
Cause I think I'd like to get into this field.

yeah .... i have done soundtracks for documentaries and short film.......... and worked closely with award winning filmmaker kali v/d merwe on some of her art films ...and co wrote the score on a doccie she had in 2008 gay and lesbian film fest ......... a few years ago a song of mine was used in a movie that made it to berlin film festival...just a short film......... but it dissappeared into obscurity as most do..........

but these days i'm still composing furiously but for my world music cd's and performances and just finished a soft jazz album too .......

so yeah sorry i can't be of much help of being in the film scene right now........ but it's something i might get back into when i get tired of performing again ........

but never written any jingles yet or worked on a full length movie....... i wouldn't mind making doccies........... that would be awesome ............. not just the music but the whole process......... but thats big money ......... let me rephrase that heheh it requires BIG money .......

working in film is challenging ....... kind of using all the ...sight/sound and storytelling techniques in one product.....

Yes, keira has got it spot on.

learning to work with directors is something else, first they want this and the following day they want something completly different because they changed something.

I have not done anything major yet, as it takes time to build reputation.
but i have been offered to do something for a new TV channel.

if you want to learn about this type of stuff and how to go about locally, maby the CASA forum will help alot.
