I would be more interested in the type than in the date since they built different schematics in the same period. Does that make sense? I mean if you know what year it was built, you still don't know the type.

Your main resource is the two letter date code on the valve chart:

Using the above I not only know what month in '64 my Twin was made, but know manufacturer, month and year of all the major components as well. ?

The circuit code is more important for servicing, but it's nice to know when it was made too - particularly for valuation.

as with most people wanting to date something , first you would start by wowing said person , either by flirting or send flowers . then maybe a few outings to get to know said person . after the first kiss you are safe to assume you are dating said person .

Don't just try stick your input jack straight in. A bassman needs to be romanced.

I'd recommend trying out a few Bassmen before settling with one - you have to know what's out there before you commit!
