Heres a link of a Gibson SG thats currently on Gumtree:

Something doesnt look right here guys. It looks like a fake. The one tuner is skew, it feels like the serial number and "made in" stamp is not where it should be.
The Volume and tone controls, the input jack, the pickups even the Gibson Logo looks wrong!

It's the real thing...since about '70/71 some minor changes were made to the SG. See the bridge for example in the one advertised. The Gibson logo is also consistent with the era. The neck inlays are also different to earlier models. Note the volute near the headstock in one of the pics...all consistent with the era

That guitar is absolutely typical of a mid-seventies SG Standard. My buddy has an SG special from the same era with mini-humbuckers. Nothing unusual about that one.

The guy from stewmac who appears on a few of their brochures, Eric Goreman, has a great example with an extra pickup and a wrap-tail bridge. It's his number one guitar. They've got their own look going on.

hmm if this is real i may just go for them, not that i need them or anything, but my mexican strat came with kinmans, would be interesting to hear the difference and maybe i could get myself a cheap strat to add those too...? hmmm but it would just be random gas really...

+1 to keep the kinmans ... when I tried your axe I reckoned they sound better than my MIA strat pickups

I wasn't gonna stop using the kinmans, was just thinking of maybe trying them out...but yeah I guess I should hold back on the GAS, especially when its as random as this... ?

If anyone is interested, there are two Vox AC30's knocking around Gumtree (JHB) and Junkmail. One for R9k (Vereeniging) and one for R6k (Nelspruit). I know the guy selling the 6k one, I've just bought a Peavey VK112 from him, which was in immaculate condition. So if anyone is looking, these come highly recommended ?
