The headstock , the body shape , the knob positions , no fret binding , wrong case.....etc, etc.

Peavey Valveking 112 tube amp. I can highly recommend this amp. It's a beast at 50W, and the guy's already replaced the stock tubes with JJ6L6's, which is said to be a good mod for the amp. R4k is actually, IMHO, a damn good price for this amp, haven't recently seen them going for less than R5k...

Does Avast allow you to bypass it? I've visited the link a couple of times, haven't had any problems. Kaspersky doesn't bat an eyelid...

Theres a 'new' one at Music Connection in Jhb . Its been there for about 2 years.

hhhhmmm, If it's Japanese then maybe?
Personally I normally stop looking at LP types when I see a bolt on neck.
I'm not sure why, or if it's accurate at all, but I find I have no interest in a big, heavy single cutaway guitar, that features a bolt on neck...not for me.

This Strat has been on Gumtree for a while now and to my eyes it looks like a damn good deal, considering all the mods/upgrades on it. What thinks you people? Am I missing something?

That is a good deal. The only things that might put some buyers off is the combination of pretty hot Strat pickups and a vintage radius fretboard - vintage Strat fans generally prefer lower powered pups and hot Strat fans usually like flatter fingerboards).

But try it out you might be a 7.25" radius fan. All the early rockers are! Recently started learning on a vintage radius myself. I just find that Japaneses necks fit my hand like a glove. One of the most important reasons I go for them.

Damned good looking guitar, that. Alas, I can barely justify the gear I have at the moment, what with my terrible playing. A man can dream, though, and maybe if I finally reach a point where I can do this kind of instrument justice I'll make another financially irresponsible foray against Gumtree and it's ilk ?

That's the problem with Shure mics nowadays...so many fakes around. Best is to go and check it out. There are several youtube and other sites on how to spot fake Shure mics.
