At last tally Members: 1,826 and there seems to be new ones every day... but there's a lot of non-posting members, was just wondering why so many folks don't post? Not that I don't love the core posters ? The forum is incredibly rich already but would only benefit from more opinions and shared info...

Don't feel bad man, my knowledge of guitar tech is pretty limited, but those who have the knowledge don't mind being ~~abused~~... ~~used~~... approached for advice ?

I lurk because I enjoy reading the content, but I don't always have value to add.

I lurked for quite a while without being registered, but finally joined because you need to be registered to use the "Show unread posts since last visit" Link (which makes reading a helluva lot easier).

I have chipped in where I can add something, but I mostly just read (I'm also scared that if I start posting it will become public knowledge just how badly I've been neglecting my own playing/guitars... :-[ :sorry?.

I know how govendl3 feels. I even thought I knew the guitar well and branding, but bowled over by the sheer amount of knowledge the guys on this site is willing to to give. Since Ive join Ive been reading old posts and researching it,well in hope to give my opinion one day, but thnx for the great site and all the insight.

What Alan said was right. The newbies are scared to give their opinions. We are new and it seems (how can i say this without freaking some people out) the mature members knowledge on topics is far more superior than what we could ever say.

Greenwitch: Remember, no single member on this forum will jump you if you give your opinion. You can actually learn a few things by giving your opinion or ask questions on a post that someone made. If someone on the forum explains something and it goes over your head you are welcome to ask the poster to explain in more detail. I have found that most members are more than willing to do so ?

Alot of guys on the forum, especially the hero members and admins LOVE helping out, we all do I think, I chip in with help if I can, but read more and just comment and chat most of the time!!

Awesome bunch of fellows on the forum to say the least!

I'm actually not supposed to be here at all cause I only used to almost be a good guitarist. I'm supposed to be over at the SA Artists forum but for some reason it's completely DEAD. Which is kind of wierd cause the artists I've known have a lot to say .... Maybe it just hasn't taken on yet ... But this is an exceptional forum - lots of info coming from many different angles and some of the members are incredibly informed. Brilliant and very interesting.

My hero, would totally post my Lurker Pic now but yours is way cooler.

Anyhow, I rate the less experienced members here are afraid to post because it's hard to describe what you're learning or experiencing.
Especially when it comes to something as complex as music I have no idea what I'm trying to say half the time when it comes to music, which is why I'm sure they developed notation and special words namely music notation, problem is if you don't know all that or have limited knowledge of it, you either end up trawling the net for the correct terminology or you just don't post out of fear of being wrong. So you just end up creeping around gathering little bits of info to help you with your own cause, until you're knowledgeable to offer some insight in a certain field/subject.

So lurkers will inevitably become posters. ?

Kudos to all the legend members on this forum if not for them I would still be questioning where the bridge is on the guitar or if strings rust.
